Government needs to provide patient profile of each COVID related death, says Phillip Alexander

Political leader of the Progressive Empowerment Party (PEP), Phillip Alexander is calling for the profiles of the more than 3,000 people who have died from Covid-19 in Trinidad and Tobago.

In a release on Sunday, Alexander said, “Until the government can provide a patient profile of the less than quarter of 1% of the general population who have died from this virus you cannot know if you fall into the at risk group and there is no benefit to you to take this vaccine regardless of which high profile spokesperson comes to convince you otherwise.”

Alexander said the majority of people who have died from Covid-19 had illnesses and infirmities such as obesity.

He said, “I can also say with some certainty that as the majority of people who have come forward with information about loved ones tell a story of serious illness, other infirmity or morbid obesity unless you fall into one of those categories you have nothing to fear.

“We have been living with this virus for two years now and despite all the fear-mongering, the actual death rate is quite low. Too low to cause all of this.”

Alexander said if the overwhelming majority of otherwise healthy persons who test positive recover on their own without any medical intervention, then the conversation has to be switched to protect those at risk and reduce that number even further, rather than trying to inject everyone else.

He said, “The people are asking for basic information in the absence of liability protection, information such as the patient profile of all who died from Covid.

“Why is this so hard to get? We do not need patient names nor any other identifiers, just statistics. What was the average age? Body size, weight and mass? What comorbidities were present? And finally, did they receive any jabs at all?”

“Most of the people vaccinated so far have done so grudgingly to safeguard jobs or to facilitate education, but not one person I have spoken to in public or private has the above information besides the Ministry of Health, and no one can explain why they might be withholding it.”

He asked, “Is it because, prior to April 4, 2021, when the vaccines were rolled out in this country, the overwhelming majority of the small number of those who succumbed were obese or seriously ill?

“Because, if the answer to that question is yes, it would mean that the otherwise healthy were always safe from dying from Covid and the government pushed to vaccinate them needlessly, a situation that, if proven true, could be cause for criminal liability for the decision regardless of how they safeguarded themselves from liability for the vaccine itself.”

“We have asked the government through the Freedom of Information Act to provide the basic patient profile information and so far they are in breach of the law.

“If we in the Citizens Union of Trinidad & Tobago do not have some sort of answer from the Minister by noon Monday the next step is through the courts via a judicial review.”
