Nicki Minaj made major headlines in September 2021, as she attempted to justify not taking the vaccine with the possibility of having severe side affects – affects as severe as her cousin’s friend genitals being swollen.
The Trini born star went on a Twitter rant about the covid-19 vaccine – she said, “they want you to get vaccinated for the Met. if I get vaccinated it won’t for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now.”
Minaj quickly followed that tweet with an anecdote about her “cousin’s friend in Trinidad,” who she claimed received the vaccine and “became impotent.”
“His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding,” she wrote. “So just pray on it [and] make sure you’re comfortable with [your] decision, not bullied.”
Nicki then tweeted that her cousin saw the news and was attempting to contact her.
On the third day, the Health Minister from Trinidad & Tobago rose, responding in an official statement and even clearing the air on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
