George: Duke seeking relevance after dismal failure in LGE by reaching out to Augustine

Head of the Tobago Business Chamber has commented on Watson Duke’s attempt at a reconciliation with THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine.

During a media conference on Monday, Duke extended an olive branch to THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine, calling on him to put their differences aside and work together for the benefit of Tobago.

In September 2022, Duke resigned as deputy political leader of the Tobago House of Assembly after a public spat with Augustine over funds for a Tobago cultural group in New York.

Soon after, the entire THA Executive resigned from the PDP. Augustine later launched the Tobago People’s Party.

Duke said that he was ready to forgive and understand, overlook past actions, set aside differences and join forces in Tobago.

Speaking on Power 102’s Power Breakfast Show this morning George said after Duke’s failure in Trinidad following the Local Government Election he is now seeking relevance.

George maintained that Tobagonians would not be fooled by Duke’s desperate actions.
