Geneticist, Dr Nicole Rambachan, is warning that encroaching on the wildlife environment increases the possibility of spread of various viruses and diseases.
As result of this, citizens should do what is necessary to guard against risk.
Dr Rambachan cited the relationship between animals and humans when activities such as deforestation and wild life trafficking take place.
She said when this is done it increases the risk of transmission of diseases.
Speaking on Power 102 Digital Tuesday morning, Dr Rambachan recalled the existence of various viruses which have been experienced around the world.
