Minister of National Security Stuart Young made the announcement during a press conference on Tuesday morning.
Young said the regulations has changed and from today until April 20 – in the first instance – persons can only gather in groups of five.
Stuart said citizens are encouraged, “Continue with your social distancing, please stay at home, and only go out if necessary.”
He said the police is entitled to ask persons where they are going but the point is not to arrest people but to keep the citizens safe.
He said the gatherings excludes financial institutions such as banks, supermarkets, pharmacies and other essential services. But, he said, the police will be encouraging people to be socially responsible and practise social distancing.
