Gas tanks stolen from NATPET compound in Sea Lots; police and NP investigating

National Petroleum Marketing Company Limited (NP) has launched an investigation into the theft of an undisclosed sum of gas cylinders.

The gas cylinders/gas tanks were taken from NATPET Investments Company Ltd, in Sea Lots on Sunday.

NP, via a release, stated that the incident took place around 4.30 am and that an “unconfirmed number” of gas cylinders were taken from the compound.

The company assured that the theft would not affect the supply of LPG to consumers.

“We wish to make an appeal to customers to maintain their normal purchasing patterns and avoid panic buying or hoarding cylinders which will only serve to create LPG shortages,” NP said.
