Police Commissioner, Gary Griffith, has stated that thanks to his detractors, he will be reapplying for the position of top Cop.
At a media conference today, Griffith explained that the past three years have been tough with some persons attacking him and his family in a smear campaign.
However, he insisted that his detractors had in fact pushed him to reapply for the role.
Griffith has been in the role since 2018 and his current contract ends on August 18th 2021.
He said, “After speaking with my wife, she has given me permission to state that I intend to reapply for the post of Commissioner of Police. In fact, I wish to thank the ‘hate the police squad’…those who spent the last three years attacking me, that it is because of you, that you have strengthened me, you have strengthened my resolve to reapply.”
Recent polls showed that he has an 80% approval rating from the public and he thanked citizens for their support.
