Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has responded to allegations that he threatened to kill and choked a Cocorite man. The COP is reported to have responded to the allegations by saying “I don’t threaten anyone”.

Cocorite resident Cecil Skeete had filed a police report alleging Griffith choked him and threatened to kill him. There are also reports that the station diary containing the report has gone missing.

Mr. Skeet alleged that COP Griffith said:
I could kill you and say to my men you tried to take my gun” while a gun was also pointed to his head.

The report was filed in June 2019 at the Four Roads Police Station, where the incident is alleged to have happened while Skeete was detained and in custody for questioning.

The man has also stated his intentions to have the matter investigated by the Poluce Complaints Authority however the PCA cannot initiate the investigation until it is fully constituted with a Director appointed.

It’s Director David West appointment ended on November 07th and while the Government has signalled it’s intention to reappoint Mr West , the issue cannot be dealt with until the Opposition cooperates as per the Constitutional requirements.
