Gary has no plans to discipline cops who stopped and searched a vehicle his daughter was in

Police Commissioner Gary Griffith said he does not get involved in basic operations and has no intent of taking disciplinary action against the police officers who stopped and searched a vehicle that his daughter was in on Monday.

A video circulating on social media showed T’shauna Griffith-Bain and her husband Davy Bain, being questioned by officers while their vehicle was being searched. The location of the incident was unknown.

Speaking to GML on the incident, Griffith said the officers were performing their jobs and he does not get involved in basic police operations.

He added “Regardless of who they stop, that is our job. Any issue that any citizen has, they can send it to the PCA.”

As for social media chatter that he intended to have the officers disciplined or transferred for stopping his daughter unless they apologised, Griffith said that was untrue.
He said “I have no idea what that is about regarding transfers and apologies. Somebody has a wild imagination.”
