Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith today said whilst he saw the many videos of persons dancing at what appeared to be a birthday party down the islands, he cannot make any arrests or charge anyone as there is no information or evidence to prove that the event took place during the COVID-19 ‘stay at home’ measure.
Commissioner Griffith speaking at the TTPS Media briefing this afternoon said once there is solid information that he can act on to make arrests he will; however he stressed that he can not act on ‘Rum Shop’ talk.
He said someone has to come forward to say that the event took place in breach of the Public Health Ordinance.
Meanwhile Commissioner Griffith said he has his eyes set on a scheduled event which is expected to take place soon.
He said there were forthcoming details on when or where the event would take place; however he is investigating it.
