Gary Griffith’s National Transformation Alliance (NTA), has presented 31 candidates for the upcoming Local Government Elections.
During the launch on Monday at the Queen’s Park Cricket Club, Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Griffith announced that his 31 candidates will be contesting seats in six corporations.
He also confirmed that his party will be working with the Opposition United National Congress (UNC) to beat the People’s National Movement (PNM) on August 14.
Griffith said he was proud of the team chosen and called on them to “show that you can raise the standard, that you will have persons saying that yes, I want to be a politician.”
Targeting the PM, Griffith said: “I intend to walk with even members of the Opposition because you’re gonna lose San Fernando as well and you’re going to lose Local Government Elections.”
Griffith also called on all political parties that are not taking part in the elections to “come onboard.”
“This is your opportunity for us to work together as a team to unite Trinidad and Tobago after it has been divided, fragmented, virtually destroyed because of the arrogance and hatred, and bitterness of one man. It’s time for us to turn this around,” Griffith said.
“We are here, this National Transformation Alliance, we are here to build not to divide. We are here to make Trinidad and Tobago as good as it can be and that is why we have quality individuals here today.”
