Gary Griffith: ‘Bliss to blame for PSC fiasco’

Former Police Commissioner Gary Griffith says the fiasco surrounding the PSC and the merit list is one that should never have occurred if the proper protocols were followed.

He told the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital this morning that the blame for the fiasco surrounding the list lay squarely in the lap of Bliss Seepersad.

Gary Griffith has lamented what he says is the unfortunate position some have found themselves in due to the investigation into FULs.

On October 2, both Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley and National security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds disclosed that the police firearms unit was closed amid the investigation involving Griffith, the now-defunct Police Service Commission (PSC) and the leadership of the service.

The announcement came on the heels of a probe into alleged improprieties surrounding the granting of FULs by the TTPS.

Griffith this morning stated that things were put in place with the FULs to ensure that there was no corruption, like chips placed in the FUL card to ensure there was no corruption with the distribution of firearms.
