Eighteen murders have been recorded so far this year.
The majority of murders for 2023, reportedly 12, are said to be gang related.
This information was revealed by head of the homicide division Senior Superintendent, Rishi Singh, during a news briefing held by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service this week.
Mr. Singh also gave a break down on the murders.
He revealed in 2022, 605 persons were killed.
