Galil assault rifle still unaccounted for

The TT Regiment said there is no truth to reports that the Galil assault rifle that went missing from the Teteron Barracks on Sunday has been found.

Reports circulating online, stated that the weapon was found on Monday in the Belmont area, and that a member of the Regiment, identified only as Wanza, was assisting investigators with the inquiry.

However, in a release, the Regiment said the assault rifle remains unaccounted for at this time.

They advised the public that investigations are still ongoing, in conjunction with the TTPS and information will be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.

A $75,000 reward for the safe retrieval of the weapon was announced by the National Security Ministry on Sunday.
