The price of fuel in Trinidad and Tobago has been increased as of today, April 19th, 2022.
Finance Minister Colm Imbert, made the following announcement in Parliament, on April 07th:-
– Premium gasoline will be increased by $1 per litre to $6.75
– Super gasoline will increase by $1 from $4.97 per litre to $5.97
– Diesel will increase by 50 cents to $3.91 per litre
– Kerosene has been increased to $3.50.
The government has indicated the increase is to offset the almost 2 billion fuel subsidy bill annually in the country.
Meanwhile Opposition Leader, Kamla Persad-Bissessar and several members of the UNC have staged a protest at the Claxton Bay flyover along with party supporters in light of the increase in both fuel and food prices.
