The Robert Koch Institute explained that the increase in the R indicator is partly due to the fact that the number of cases active in Germany it is relatively low and, therefore, all local outbreaks have a strong impact on calculations.
“It cannot be concluded that there is a strong increase in cases at the federal level,” assumed the Robert Koch Institute in its daily report.
The main outbreak occurred in a meat industry in Gütersloh (West Germany), where there were more than a thousand contagions.
There were also other outbreaks, one in a complex of buildings in Gottingen (north) and another in a Berlin building.
In Gottingen, there are about 700 people in quarantine, some of whom were against the measure and, in one of the complexes that registered 120 cases of infectionsshot objects to the policemen surrounding the buildings.
In Gütersloh, 185.9 cases are recorded weekly for every 100,000 inhabitants, clearly exceeding the key parameter that indicates that when there are more than 50 new cases infections for every 100,000 inhabitants in a municipality, special measures must be taken.
In this case, the prime minister of the federal state of RenThenia From north-Westphalia, Armin Laschet, did not rule out the need to enact a confinement for Gütersloh and surroundings, although I said that, for the moment, the chain of infections is controlled.
Gottingen it is also close to the critical level with 46 new cases per week, per 100,000 inhabitants. Currently, the most federal state affected in the country is RenThenia From north-Westphalia, with 2,306 cases active (12.9 per 100,000 inhabitants), due in large part to the outbreak of Gütersloh.
Followed by Bavaria – the state where there has been more contagion since the beginning of pandemic, with 48,253 – with, currently, 1,039 cases active, which is equivalent to 7.9 per 100,000 inhabitants.
The least land affected is Mecklenburg-Anti Pomeranian (northeast) with only 25 cases active, that is, 1.6 per 100,000 inhabitants.
In the capital of Germany, Berlin, there are 718 cases active, the equivalent of 19.7 per 100,000 inhabitants.
