Fraser-Pryce is now the 2nd fastest woman in history – clocks new national record

Jamaican Sprint Queen Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was on fire inside Jamaica’s National Stadium on Saturday, blazing to a new national record, 10.63 seconds in the 100m at the JAAA/JOA Olympic Destiny Meet.

Fraser-Pryce’s time was also the fastest recorded in the world this year and the fastest since American Florence Griffith Joyner’s 10.49 seconds world record run in 1988.

Natasha Morrison also went sub-11 seconds by placing second in 10.95 seconds and Daneisha Cameron third in 11.39.

“First I must thank God for this. I am a bit surprised to run that fast, as the goal was to come and put in a good one before the National Championships as the main goal was on execution,” said an elated Fraser-Pryce.
