France Records 198 COVID-19 Related Deaths in the last 24 Hours

The Covid-19 epidemic killed 198 people in hospital in 24 hours, November 29th, against 213 on Saturday, a stable trend far from recent peaks, according to data from Public Health France.
The total number of deaths in France since the start of the epidemic now stands at 52,325. The highest number of deaths recorded in 24 hours in a hospital environment, during the second wave, was 551 on November 9th.The number of hospitalizations linked to Covid-19 is stable, with 28,284 individuals concerned (against 28,139 on Saturday and 28,620 on Friday), after a peak of more than 33,000 patients on November 16. Hospitals now have 3,744 patients in intensive care (against 3,765 Saturday and 3,871 Friday), with 102 new admissions over 24 hours (122 Saturday).

A little less than 10,000 (9,784) new cases of contamination have been recorded in the last 24 hours, far from the peaks of 60,000 cases in early November. The positivity rate (proportion of the number of positive people compared to the total number of people tested), fell again a little, to 11.1% (11.4% Saturday, 11.7% Friday, 12.2% Thursday and 13% Wednesday).

These figures were noted as small and large businesses, deemed non-essential since the re-containment, reopened on Saturday and restrictions on personal travel were eased.
