Four charged with possession of firearms and ammo

Four persons were granted bail after appearing virtually before a Scarborough Magistrate today, charged with possession of firearms and ammunition.

NIGEL ANDERSON, 45, a proprietor, NADIA TRICIA ROMEO, 36, a labourer, DWIGHT TITTLE, 35, and JAHEIM ROMEO, 18, a cashier, all of Golden Grove Road, Canaan, appeared before the court on Friday 18th December, 2020. Anderson faced additional charges of larceny and unlawful possession of 213 gas cylinders.

Anderson was granted bail with surety in the sum of $150,000 with a cash alternative of $10,000, whilst Nadia, Jaheim Romeo and Dwight Tittle, were each granted bail with surety in the sum of $100,000 or a cash alternative of $10,000. As a condition of bail, all four are to report to the Crown Point Police Station every Saturday.

The matters were adjourned to January 14th 2021.

The accused were arrested after the illegal items were allegedly found during a search conducted at their home by officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force on Monday 14th December, 2020.

Charges were laid by WPC Harris of the TDTF.
