Four people have been arrested in connection with the overdose death of actor Michael K. Williams.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York in a press release on Wednesday said Williams died as a result of using that fentanyl-laced heroin.

Despite knowing that Williams died after being sold the DTO’s product, last year at the age of 54; CARTAGENA, ROBLES, CRUZ, and MACCI continued to sell fentanyl-laced heroin, in broad daylight, amidst residential apartment buildings, in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Irvin Cartagena, 39; Hector Robles, 57; Luiz Cruz, 56; and Carlos Macci, 70, were “each charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl analogue, fentanyl, and heroin,” which carries a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.

Cartagena was also charged with causing Williams’ death in connection with the alleged conspiracy, which carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Cartagena was arrested in Puerto Rico on Tuesday, and will appear in federal court there on Thursday.

The three other defendants were arrested in Manhattan on the same day, and are scheduled to appear in the city’s federal court on Wednesday, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
