A 64-year-old Venezuelan national was found dead at his Cunupia home on Sunday afternoon,
Carlos Hernandez, a painter, lived alone at that apartment and had last been seen alive four days ago.
Police received a report around 4:30 pm on Sunday afternoon that Hernandez’ body had been found by people who went to check on him, and a team of officers, led by Sgt Brisbane, responded.
Upon arriving, they observed the front door of Hernandez’s apartment was open and saw his body on the living room floor.
Authorities said there appeared to be several marks of violence about his body, and a trail of blood was also observed from the kitchen to the living room.
The body was viewed by a district medical officer, who made certain pronouncements before ordering its removal from the scene.
As a result, a post-mortem has been ordered to confirm the cause of death in keeping with the investigatory process.
Anyone with information which may shed light on what happened in this incident is asked to contact the Cunupia police station or the Homicide Bureau.
Information can also be given anonymously via 555 or 800-TIPS or at any police station.
WPC Murren is said to be continuing enquiries.
