Former THA Presiding Officer Raises Questions Regarding Upcoming Budget Allocation

Questions are being raised on whether the current Tobago House of Assembly should be given more money or receive what they are customarily allocated by the government in the upcoming national budget.

This view point is highlighted by Political Leader of the Innovative Democratic Alliance and former Presiding Officer of the THA, Dr Denise Tsoiafatt Angus.

She made the comment while speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital on Tuesday.

Dr Tsoiafatt Angus said this matter is important due to what she described as the on-going instability and uncertainty being displayed by the Progressive Democratic Patriots.

Referring to the Dispute Resolution Commission, years ago, Dr Tsoiafatt Angus said Tobago can get a minimum of 0.43 percent up to 6.9 percent in the fiscal package.

However, the former presiding officer claimed no administration has ever done that.

Transparency and accountability were cited by Dr Tsoiafatt Angus as critical in terms of the awarding of contracts to send a positive message to people.
