Former NOC Director Calls For Intensified Effort To Introduce Body Cameras Within The TTPS

There is a suggestion for intensified effort to introduce the use of body cameras in the operations of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

The appeal comes from former Director of the National Operations Center, Garvin Heerah.

The senior NOC official made the proposal while speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102fm Thursday.

Mr Heerah is of the view the use of body cameras in the work of the TTPS will bring many benefits to the service and the public.

Mr Heerah said this device should become a key tool in the surveillance technology of the TTPS especially in an ever changing environment.

Mr Heerah said during his stint at the NOC there was a recommendation to have the body cameras introduced as a pilot project for a period of three months.
