Former Trade Minister Mariano Browne has suggested that the world is paying for the Russia-Ukraine war at the gas pump.
Mr Browne told Power 102 FM’s Power Breakfast Show this morning that the war has contributed to an increase in the price of fuel.
This he said, in turn, has affected the price of transport, pushing it upwards.
Combined with the economic inflation being seen around the world, Mr Browne noted that the price of products will increase in T&T.
Mr Browne added that this may be behind the reason for Finance Minister Colm Imbert’s decision not to devalue T&T’s money despite the IMF’s claim that it is overvalued.
