Fmr Nat Sec Minister says SoE should not have been lifted early

Former National Security Minister Jack Warner says questions still have to be answered regarding the state of emergency.

He echoed the sentiments of the Opposition who claim that the Government only lifted the SoE early because of the upcoming THA elections.

Mr Warner argued that the Government should have stayed course and let the Opposition fall on its sword.

Speakign on Power 102 Digital this morning, he claimed that cases are on the rise as a result of the lifting of the SoE.

Mr Warner’s comments come after the country saw COVID patients die at a rate of almost 1 every hour with 48 deaths recorded at the weekend.

According to the health Ministry, 28 persons passed away on Saturday while Sunday saw 20 deaths due to the virus.
