Fmr. Finance Minister describes budget as “overly optimistic”

Former Finance Minister Karen-Nunez-Tesheira is chiding Finance Minister Colm Imbert for his “overly optimistic” revenue projections.

She made the comment while speaking on the Power Breakfast on Tuesday morning.

During the national budget presentation in the parliament on Monday, Imbert said the expected revenue is 41.3 billion dollars. He explained that the budget is based on a gas price of US$45 dollars per barrel.

However, as of this morning, crude oil prices fluctuated between US$36 and $42.
