Flooding Along South Quay, POS, Pauses Midday Commute For Many

Many people are waiting for water levels to subside at South Quay, Port of Spain, following heavy showers during the morning period in the Capital City.

A video circulating on social media shows some vehicles trying to make their way through the flood waters.

Along Frederick Street and other parts individuals sought shelter from the inclement weather under stores while waiting for the rain to stop.

In its latest forecast the Met Office said for the period this afternoon and tonight, Trinidad, Tobago and the Windward Islands partly cloudy to cloudy at times with light to moderate showers in varying areas.

There is the chance thirty percent for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm to develop during the afternoon.

Tonight will be relatively settled but with a few lingering showers in a few areas.

In the event of a heavy shower of thunderstorm winds can become gusty and street flooding may occur in the vicinity.
