Five New COVID-19 Variants Being Monitored By World Health Organsiation.

Five new COVID-19 variants are being closely monitored by the World Health Organization.

Confirmation of this comes from Professor of Molecular Genetics and Virology at the University of the West Indies Faculty of Medical Sciences, Christine Carrington.

Professor Carrington made the disclosure while speaking at the Ministry of Health virtual news briefing Monday.

Professor Carrington said the five new variants have not been identified in Trinidad and Tobago.

However, Professor Carrington said they have been found in the Caribbean.
