Five Jamaican artiste nominated for a Grammy

Kabaka Pyramid’s The Kalling, Koffee’s Gifted, Protoje’s Third Time’s The Charm, Sean Paul’s Scorcha and Shaggy’s Come Fly Wid Mi are the albums nominated in the Best Reggae Album category at the upcoming 65th Annual Grammy Awards, to be held in 2023.

R&B singer John Legend made the announcement today (November 15) for the Recording Academy during the organization’s annual nominations live-stream event.

The number of albums up for consideration this year had taken a drastic dip to a total of 67, down from 125 last year.

This is the first nomination for Kabaka Pyramid, whose sophomore album The Kalling was released on September 30, the last day of the Recording Academy’s eligibility period for the 65th Annual Awards.  The album was released via Ghetto Youths Int’l and Bebble Rock Music.
