Five Families Affected By Claxton Bay Landslides Are Getting Help From The Government

The five families affected by massive landslides in September 2021 at Diamond Road, Claxton Bay, are getting assistance from the government.

Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox, said in the Senate this afternoon, the ministry organised a response team made up of officers from various agencies to assess the situation.

Minister Cox  said the rental assistance grant was offered to all the families to which one family accepted the help.

Counselling support, household item grant were also provided to the affected families.

The Ministry is also liaising with other agencies in an effort to coordinate other options which may become available to the families.

Minister Cox provided the information in the Senate on Tuesday afternoon.
