Twenty-eight year old fisherman Rion Woods appeared before a magistrate on Tuesday charged with grievous bodily harm and being armed with a weapon.
Woods, of Parlatuvier Main Road, Parlatuvier, appeared before a Scarborough magistrate during a virtual session.
The Court heard that on December 3, 2019 Woods and his girlfriend were at his home when an argument ensued.
Woods allegedly hit the woman with a television, and repeatedly hit her with a cutlass.
Woods was arrested and charged.
He was granted bail in the sum of $100,000.
As part of his bail condition, he must report to the Moriah Police Station every two weeks and is to have no contact with the victim, either directly or indirectly.
The matter was postponed to July 7.
