First Christmas baby born at 12:58 a.m

Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, while visiting frontline medical staff at the Couva Medical and Multi- Training Facility today, used the opportunity to announce the first two births recorded for Christmas Day 2020.
They are as follows:
Arti Deokaran was the first to give birth at 12.58 am to her baby daughter Arya under the care of Dr Petal Latchman and her team.

Baby Arya weighed 6.95 pounds.

Twenty minutes later, Carolina Lopez welcomed the birth of her daughter.

Dr Nadia Dowlath and her team, which included Sandra Goliath, helped Lopez to deliver the baby safely.

Lopez’s baby weighed 7.57 pounds and was born at 1.18 am.

In a statement, the South West Regional Health Authority congratulated the parents Deokaran and Kamey Dabideen as well as Lopez and Luis Ramirez.
