Firearms and ammo found in Western Division

Two firearms and a quantity of ammunition were seized during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Western Division overnight.

The exercise was conducted between Monday 22nd February, 2021 and Tuesday 23rd February, 2021, by officers of the Western Division Task Force.

At around 4:30 pm, PCs Murray, Mc Clean and Sahadath, proceeded to an area known as “Duck Farm”, located at the corner of Cizan Trace and Blue Basin Road, Diego Martin.
A search of the area was conducted and an Astra Pistol loaded with six rounds of nine millimetre ammunition and 160 grammes of marijuana, were found hidden on the roof of an abandoned structure.

The officers also proceeded to a standpipe in the area around 10 pm, where they found one silver and black pistol wrapped in piece of cloth fitted with a magazine containing two rounds of nine millimetre ammunition.

The exercise was organised by Snr. Supt. Kelvern Thompson, coordinated by Supt. Henry and ASP Baird, and spearheaded by Inspectors Reyes and Grant and Sgt Carmona.
Enquires are continuing.
