A firearm along with a quantity of ammunition was found in Cunupia on Tuesday.
Officers of the Road Policing Task Force (RPTF), based on information received, proceeded to Chin Chin Road, Cunupia around 5:15 pm.
A piece of blue cloth was found near to a tamarind tree in an open lot. A silver-coloured firearm with a wooden handle wrapped with black tape was found in the cloth along with two .38 Spl cartridges.
Investigations are continuing.
