Fire Prevention Department revealed 68 deaths occurred from 2016-2019 due to fires

Acting Fire Sub Officer, Jude Rogers, of the Fire Prevention Department says from 2016 to 2019 there have been 68 deaths due to fires.

He says this amounted to one point four billion dollars’ worth of damages in house hold property and articles.

Officer Rogers gave the update in an interview with News Power Now this afternoon, as he reflected on the observance of Fire Prevention Week from the 4th to the 10th of October.

The theme for this year is Fire Safety during the New Normal.

Officers Rogers provided details on the work of the Fire Service in addressing this subject.

Officers Rogers also gave information on various steps which can be taken to avoid fires at homes or buildings.
