Findings of Tribunal Into A&V Oil And Gas Presented To Parliament

Parliament is informed of the findings of the Tribunal which was set up to investigate the  A&V Oil and Gas Limited and Petrotrin matter.

The finding were laid in the parliament today.

Speaking on a political platform four years ago, Opposition Leader, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, alleged A&V Oil, was charging the State for oil not actually produced.

The claims were then probed by Petrotrin.

The company eventually  ended A&V Oil’s drilling contract for crude.

A&V Oil won the matter in court and was awarded with  an eighteen million dollar settlement.

Speaking on the subject in the House of Representatives Friday afternoon, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, read the findings into the parliament’s record.

Minister Young said members of the Tribunal found no evidence to support claims A&V Oil and Gas was involved in fraudulent activity.
