Finance Minister: Senior Citizens’ Pension Cost Gov’t $4 Billion Yearly

Four billion dollars is spent every year by the government to ensure senior citizens’ pensions are paid.

In another area of expenditure, the government spends one billion dollars on pharmaceuticals in the public health care system.

These developments were made known by Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, while speaking in the Senate today.

Minister Imbert was at the time piloting the Finance Supplementary Appropriation, Financial Year 2022, Bill.

Minister Imbert explained  these two areas of spending by the government is very significant and he also outlined other areas where the ruling administration will allocate money to properly manage the country’s affairs.
