The government says it has made some significant strides in the creation of a digital economy with emphasis on bringing the unbanked into the system.
Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, made the remark while delivering the keynote address at a Technical Workshop Event on Tuesday.
The theme chosen was “Advancing the Digital Payment & Financial Inclusion Agenda Across the Eastern Caribbean.
Minister Imbert said some measures include the development and implementation of a national data governance policy and framework, the update of the government’s cloud policy and assisting local technology entrepreneurs in getting international accreditation and information technology.
Mr Imbert said this on-going digital transformation of the sector will positively impact the levels of financial inclusion as the Government continues to roll out and support inclusive finance initiatives.
