Female Doubles Vendor Wounded In Curepe Shooting

A 21 year old woman Valsayn remains warde, in stable condition, at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex following a shooting incident on Thursday morning.

Reports say Aliyah Maraj, who is employed as a cashier of Bara Box Doubles, was approached by a man who pulled out a gun from his pants waist and fired several shots in her direction before fleeing.

Maraj is said to have sustained a bullet wound to the upper right back and right neck, while the male workers remain unharmed following the incident.

Investigating officers recovered several live 9 mm rounds and shell casings along with two deformed projectiles from the location of the crime scene.

The incident occurred at the doubles outlet where the popular Sauce doubles once operated at, in the vicinity of Knowles Street, Curepe.
