The body of a woman found in Santa Cruz this morning, is believed to be that of 18-year-old Ashanti Riley.

Around 8.05 am on Friday, members of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit went to a forested area, in upper La Canoa following a tip-off and found the body, naked and in a shallow watercourse almost 60 feet from the road.

It was only Thursday that the TTPS stated that the investigation into Riley’s disappearance had been taken over by investigators from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) and Homicide Bureau.

Riley, 18, was last seen at around 4.15 pm on Sunday, when she left in a PH taxi.
