Father, son among five arrested for stabbing man

Five men including a father and a son were arrested for allegedly stabbing a 24-year-old gardener.

The incident took place on April 9.

Reports indicate that 24-year-old Boysie Russel was riding his bike along Scotts Road, on his way to a parlour, when he was beaten and stabbed by the men who accused him of using obscene language.

Russel, who lives at Morne Diablo, Penal, was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

He suffered serious injuries as a result of the attack, which left him unable to use his right hand. He was last discharged from the San Fernando General Hospital about two weeks ago.

An investigation was launched and four men were arrested at their homes in Scotts Road while the fifth suspect was arrested in South Oropouche on Sunday, at a home in which he was hiding.

Two of the suspects were also being questioned in connection with an arson attack in Penal last week.

Investigations are continuing.
