Father and son charged for murder of taxi driver

A man and his son have been charged with murder.

James Eastmond, 58, and son, James Eastmond Jr, 31, were charged for the murder of 42-year-old Taxi driver, Darryl Villafana, following advice received from the Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard SC on Friday.

The two were arrested on January 1st, 2021, by PC Marshall of the Northern Division Task Force, after police officers responded to a report of wounding at Geranium Drive, Coconut Drive, Morvant.

Reports state that around 4 am, two men entered the home of Villafana armed with cutlasses. The taxi driver was then reportedly heard saying “Jamsie wah is that one!” before being attacked by the two men. The men then exited the home of the taxi driver and fled the scene using a silver vehicle.

Both men are expected to appear in court on Monday 11th January, 2021.
