Farley Augustine expected to address feud with Watson Duke today

Tobago House of Assembly Chief Secretary Farley Augustine is today expected to address the issue of his broken relationship with his political leader and Deputy Chief, Watson Duke.

Yesterday, the THA executive held a virtual Executive Council meeting at which Duke was expected to respond to the concerns of his fellow members regarding his behaviour.

However, it is unclear if Duke logged in to the meeting.

It is expected that the matter will be addressed at the post-Executive Council media briefing today.

In an interview on Tuesday, Augustine revealed that he and his team had discussed stripping Duke of responsibilities in his portfolio as deputy Chief Secretary.

This came after Duke took to social media to blast the THA for their treatment of a group of folk performers which he claimed the THA left stranded in New York.

This led to a quick rebuttal by Mr Augustine following which Mr Duke took the decision to have Augustine and several other persons removed from their Executive role in the Progressive Democratic Patriots.

News Power Now yesterday spoke with well-respected Tobagonian economist Dr Vanus James, who said the rift has negatively impacted the credibility of both the PDP party and the current THA administration.
