The removal of Faris al Rawi from the Office of the Attorney general is definitely a demotion, however it may have been strategic to achieve a particular purpose.
This is according to Political Analyst Rishi Maharaj.
Al-Rawi, who served as Attorney General since the Rowley administration’s first term began in 2015, was removed and shifted to Local Government and Rural Development in a change that has been viewed as a straight out demotion.
Maharaj told News Power Digital on Thursday that while there is no denying that al Rawi’s reassignment Faris move was certainly a huge demotion, he feels that it could very well have been a big strategic move by Prime Minister Keith Rowley.
