Faris Al Rawi criticizes Opposition for not contributing to Budget Debate

Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi has extended an invitation to Opposition leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar, and her MPs, to attend sittings of the House of Representatives.
This, as Al-Rawi criticised the Opposition for not contributing to the debate on the budget in the house yesterday.
After D’Abadie/O’Meara MP Lisa Morris-Julian wrapped up her contribution to the debate, when the Deputy Speaker of the House called on the Opposition for a rebuttal, no one rose to offer a contribution.
Al-Rawi said the call by the Deputy Speaker was made no less than five times. Debate on the budget was, therefore, concluded.
He said Persad-Bissessar wasn’t even present for the entire sitting, while other Opposition members were seen leaving the sitting early.
The Attorney General also criticized the Opposition leader’s contribution, in which she focused much of her attention on what he described as “a desperate political attack”.
