Fallen trees cause power failure at North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of North East Trinidad served by the North Oropouche Water Treatment Plant, who are presently experiencing a disruption in their pipe borne water supply that this is due to a power failure caused by fallen trees on the electrical cables at the facility.

Emergency repair works currently underway are expected to be completed by 6:00 p.m. on Sunday September 27th, 2020.

Areas to be affected include:
• Sangre Grande
• Guaico
• La Horquetta
• Malabar •
• Greenvale • Carapo
• Mausica N&S • Maloney
• Oropoune •
Customers are advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the service to normalize
to some affected areas in accordance with pipe borne water supply schedules.
