An ex-soldier has been detained by Sangre Grande police in connection with the murder of 6-year-old Kylie Maloney.
The 30-year-old man is the second suspect held for the murder of the child.
The suspect was held during an anti-exercise conducted between 10 am and 2 pm on Thursday in Damarie Hill, Sangre Grande. The exercise was led by Sgts Leon, Bhim Ag Cpls Khan, Osouna, PC Singh and officers attached to Eastern Division Task Force.
The ex-soldier was then handed over to Arouca Homicide Bureau Region 2 officers.
Kylie was laid to rest at the Foster Road Cemetery on Wednesday following a funeral service at her Quash Trace, Foster Road, home.
