There is now a Memorandum of Understanding between the Equal Opportunity Commission and the Ministry of Labour aimed at helping prevent the transmission of HIV among workers.

The MOU also seeks to mitigate the impact of the epidemic on workplace productivity.

Another aspect of the MOU is to eliminate stigma and discrimination relating to HIV and AIDS.

EOC Chairman, Ian Roach, signed on behalf of the Commission while Permanent Secretary, Natalie Willis, signed on behalf of the Ministry of Labour.

Manager of the HIV Workplace Advocacy Unit, Heather Rodney, handed over the documents.

The signing took place at the EOC’s office today.
