The owner of the Hong Yuin Supermarket in Enterprise was robbed at his home on Tuesday.
Around 2am, the businessman, who lived above his supermarket at the corner of John Street and Southern Main Road, Enterprise, was awakened by loud noises.
On checking, he saw five gunmen, all of African descent, barging into his bedroom.
The men announced a robbery and took $40,000 in cash, $15,000 in prepaid cellphone cards and a Huawei cellphone.
The suspects then fled the scene.
Officers responding to the crime found a 20-foot ladder near a window on the northern side of the premises, which was believed to be the point of entry and exit.
Investigations are underway.
