Energy Chamber wants expeditious and detailed investigation into latest NiQuan incident

The Energy Chamber is calling for a detailed and timely investigation into the incident at NiQuan Energy Trinidad Limited’s plant last Thursday, which resulted in the death of an employee of Massy Energy Engineered Solutions Limited.

Allan Lane Ramkissoon died as a result of burns sustained while working at the facility.

In a statement on Wednesday morning, the Chamber said it welcomes the news that the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries has set up a team to investigate the incident.

The Chamber added: “We urge a detailed, expeditious investigation and timely sharing of its findings. The safety of every employee remains a critical priority for the industry, and we hope that the outcome of the investigation will be used to enhance safety policies and practices to avoid such tragedies in the future.”

The Energy Chamber extended its condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of Ramkissoon.
